My 3D printed model information
Will be 3D printed in high quality resin.
The body is hollow with thick walls. The head/neck, legs, hair are all solid resin. Models are thoroughly cleaned through an ultrasonic cleaner 2 times, lastly washed in water, then cured both inside and out.
Model was printed in one piece with a drain hole on the back, which will be plugged and smoothed over with epoxy. There is a vent hole in the groin area, please do not cover or fill the hole.
The resin type I use is a mix of strengthening resin and ABS type resin. Allowing the model to flex slightly to help prevent breaks. This model should be handled with care just like hand cast resin horses.
Prepping, Priming and Painting
You can treat my prints exactly like hand cast resins. You can prime them with the same primer you usually use and prep them like other hand cast resins. These models sand easy and should be an easy prep.
I have painted several of my prints with acrylics and oils and it takes just the same as hand cast resin.
Quality of my prints
My prints are handled exactly how a caster would handle their horses. Once the horse is removed and cleaned/cured, I will go over and clean the support areas and fix any imperfections. My prints virtually show no print lines and are smooth. Any models that come out with visible layer lines are considered a fail. I try and hold my prints to a very high standard so that the artist will have an easy time working with them.
Turnaround Time
Please give me a 4 month turnaround time.
This will allow me to print your model, clean/cure it and let sit for 1 week. Then I'll clean the support areas and plug the drain hole. Once that's done your model will be packed and shipped to the address you provided.
You may receive your model much sooner than that, but it's a good window for me just incase I need to do maintenance on my printer in-between orders.
